It features a silk bodice with a full and floaty skirt. There are four layers to this skirt: silk, 2 x nylon chiffon and nylon tulle. Each layer is gathered so that the skirt is full but comfortable to wear. No itching on the legs, guaranteed! It is finished with a silk sash that ties in a bow at the back. Whether your flower girl accessorizes it with pearls, or your first holy communicant wears it with a veil and cross, she will love to wear this dress as much as you love to see her in it. You can handwash it with care, but you may prefer to have it dry cleaned. Don't tumble dry it! The bodice and sash will take a hot iron, but the skirt layers need a very cool one. This dress is made to order only - do you think I could prise this one away from my daughter? Not a hope! Postage is, alas, quite expensive on this dress. The elasticated waistband is finished with an imposing contrast ribbon bow. Nobody could resist dancing in this skirt - in fact, it just about dances itself on the hanger! It has the bounce and waviness of tulle, but is made from 100% cotton, so it's cool and comfortable to wear. The volume is achieved by double pleating and ruffling 3.5 metres of cotton lawn. They work just like an apron in that the sides wrap around the body to tie at the back. The front and back of each are in different cotton fabrics so you are effectively buying two dresses. They are very versatile in that they can be worn over long or short sleeve t-shirts, and even into next year as a tunic over trousers or jeans. This version of the dress has a Matryoshka doll appliqued on the plain side. She has rhinestone eyes, embroidered features and ribbons on her dress.
