A real piece of natural history to own for yourself. The ammonite has been drilled through length ways, so I have used sterling silver vermeil wire and solid sterling silver vermeil beads to secure it.The wire has been shaped by hand to form a secure fixing. I have used an enhancer style bail, which enables you to open it up and attach it to an existing necklace or set of beads. The bail is stamped 925 for sterling silver. The fossil has a lovely iridescence on its shell; plenty of reds, oranges and golds, have a subtle play across the surface of the ammonite. This just reminds me of spring time, with its gorgeous, vibrant greens! Vibrant blue/green geometric cut slabs of Russian Amazonite teamed with beautiful Hemimorphite beads and set on an adjustable length necklace of 925 Sterling Silver. The large slabs of Russian Amazonite are each uniquely shaped and patterned with pale white/grey flecks. The stones have some texturing as Russian Amazonite is a type of Mica, which forms in sheets or layers. The more textured surfaces can be worn to the back if you prefer or to the front for a more organic look. All the surfaces of the beads are smooth. The largest of the Amazonite slabs measures just over 3cm in length. The necklace is completed with a large linked Sterling silver chain, which allows the lobster claw clasp to be positioned at any point along its length to suit you. The total length of the necklace is 51cm or 20 inches, but could easily be worn at 18 inches or less. The rare gemstone has an almost animal print pattern to it - entirely natural and animal friendly too! The Opal stone has shades of cream, pinkish browns and blacks surrounding a large central druzy or natural crystal cave. The thousands of druzy crystals are tiny and are cream in colour. They have formed into gentle rounded formations on the surface of the gemstone cave. The simple bail of the pendant has been hand finished and polished. It is stamped 925 for sterling silver. The pendant measures 74mm in length from the base of the stone to the top of the bail and 40mm wide at the widest point. This lovely 3.85 carat Korite Boulder Opal Cabochon has been set by hand into a substantial cast Sterling Silver signet style ring, which has been hand finished and polished. The stone is predominantly brown with areas of pin fire in green, blue and purple. This stone isn't ultra flashy or bright, but has a subtle and masculine quality - perfect for this ring. The opal measures 14x10mm approx and has quite a low dome, making it suitable for a signet style ring like this. I have not over polished the silver, giving the ring a more vintage feel.
