Folksy : Ink and Stylus

Hello, my name is Tamara and I like to draw. In very great detail. I use black and white Indian ink and the smallest pen nib I can find to make my pictures. Ethereal masked women, caged butterflies and the odd piece of antique French furniture all pop up in my very first series of prints. I am currently working on new drawings and am happy to discuss commissions. Please take a look-see at my shop...

The Sewing Machine - Ink Drawing (Print)

My pride and joy, my Singer sewing machine. 105 years old and still working!

The image is printed onto cream A4 300gsm card. I ink the gold on by hand afterwards. Unfortunately the photo doesn't show the gold ink to be as bright as it really is but I use Windsor & Newton metallic gold ink which shines up beautifully.

The image measures approximately 14cm x 8cm in the centre of the paper (landscape).

The print is signed by me and is sent in a protective no bend envelope.

Vintage Typewriter - Ink Drawing (Print)

I love the sound the keys make on a typewriter, the clanking and clattering of ink hitting paper. It reminds me of the many many unfinished and untold stories I've dreamed up since I got my first blue typewriter on my 5th birthday. I hope to finish at least one of those stories, one day.

The black parts of the image are printed onto white A4 180gsm paper. I add the gold ink and watercolour by hand afterwards. Unfortunately the photo doesn't show the gold to be as bright as it really is but I use Windsor & Newton metallic gold ink which shines up beautifully.

The image measures approximately 11cm x 9cm in the centre of the page (landscape).

The print is signed by me and is sent in a protective no bend envelope.

Silver Batik Girl - Ink Drawing (Print)

This has been a lost drawing so long! I've only just found it buried deep in one of my Globetrotter suitcases.

She is the silver partner to the 'Gold Batik Girl' print listed in my shop. She was drawn in New Zealand like lots of my other drawings so she is quite old. She is printed onto A4 300gsm metallic silver card.

The print is signed by me and sent in a protective, hard back envelope.

The Forest of Dead Trees - Ink Drawing (Print)

I sketched this drawing whilst on the bus leaving Venice. Looking over at one of the neighboring islands I saw this silhouette of what looked to me like a forest of dead trees, it was a cold, dull February dawn and the only word I could use to describe this scene was eerie.

The image is printed onto white A4 card and the picture measures approximately 15cm x 7cm in the middle of the page (landscape).

The print is signed by me and sent in a hard backed, no bend envelope.

Mini prints of this image are available too.

The Fitting - (Ink Drawing) Print

The inspiration for this picture comes from all the messy, chaotic and junky vintage and antique shops, secondhand bazaars, car boot sales and charity shops that I love to go too.

The piece is an experiment using colour and beautiful Chinese origami papers I discovered in a London art shop. If they work well then I hope to use them more in future pieces.

I add gold ink to the piece after printing, please send me a message if you would like it without.

The image is printed onto white 180gsm paper and measures approx. 31cm x 29cm.

The print is signed by me and is posted in a protective postage tube. Please allow up to a week for postage as I hand finish the print :)
