This is a Victorian buckle made from gold coloured metal in an oval shape with a crystal diamante detail. All the stones are present which make this a rare item. The base is made from sinamay and measures 20x9cm's.I have hand sewn it to a very comfortable black satin headband.The base has been covered from one corner with black folded tulle, which has been threaded through the buckle into a plume at the back. These raindrop shaped pendants have so many facets, as you can see they really catch the light.One half of the pendants have an AB coating which add even more beauty. To give these classic drops a modern twist the largest drop(15mmx11mm) hangs from a 32 sterling silver chain(full length not shown in picture).The 2 smaller drops (10mmx7mm) have been used to create a pair of earrings to complete the look. On a recent trip I found this circular decoration.Originally it was a belt buckle, but with a bit of jiggery pokery I managed to make it into an embellishment for this headband. The base for this item is a very comfortable, black satin headband.I have covered part of it with black netting which holds the vintage embellishment on.The netting has been sewn on.The embellishment is approx one and a half inches across, Im not too sure how old the embellishment is, but it does seem to have age to it and looks as though the diamante are made of glass.Hopefully the pictures will show how sparkly it is.
