Carreg Las Snowdonia is the result of an absolute passion for geology, rocks and minerals. Ever since I was a child, I was drawn to the rock. I used to fill my pockets with interesting looking pebbles from walks on the beach and then write off several washing machines by leaving them in there. I was lucky enough to spend my childhood in Dorset, living on the Jurassic coast. Geology if rife there as the name suggests and most of my weekends were spent fossil hunting and climbing on Portland. In order to sustain my mineral specimen habit, I had to get a job. Striking gold I managed to kick start my career in the most wonderful store in Weymouth, Fossil Beach. It sold fossils, rocks and silver jewellery. It sold all the materials to make your own gemstone jewellery. I acquired my jewellery making skills from them before leaving the Jurassic coast to study Geological Oceanography in Snowdonia. I am now still all about the rocks, by day I am full time Geoscientist but by night I am an avid crafter, surfer & mountain biker. The necklaces are themselves a celebration of the earth; all pieces are natural and are the result of our active planet. Each piece is absolutely unique, from the fractures within the stones to the necklaces composition, you will never see two the same. These pieces are a labour of love and I hope they give you as much joy as I have experienced making them.
