Welcome to Bonschelle. I make unique handmade jewellery using a variety of materials such as gold toned bronze, fused glass, semi-precious gemstones and cold enamel. All my pendants you see are shaped, textured and hand polished from scratch. As items are handmade on order the final design may vary slightly from the product image shown in terms of pattern or colour placement, giving you a truly unique piece of jewellery.
INSPIRATION
I enjoy making handmade jewellery that's affordable but also adds a touch of luxury and originality. The creative process is a fun and interesting journey, and I hope my designs can bring a touch of joy to your world. I have also developed my own kiln formed bronze which I use for many of my creations.
One of the inspirations behind Bonschelle was illness in my family which made me realize if I had a dream and wanted to do something I love I should do it today, and not put it off till tomorrow. As a way of giving something back and helping support others going through breast cancer I donate part of my net profits to Breast Cancer Care in the UK. CREATIONS
I design and hand make jewellery pendants, bracelets, personalised accessories, jewellery findings and beads using a variety of metals and materials to complete the designs, including bronze, 14K gold-filled, brass, 24K gold plate, glass, cold enamel and surgical steel. All the metals and components I use in my jewellery comply with EU Nickel regulations.
THE PROCESS
My bronze items are made using my own brand of artisan bronze metal, not pre-manufactured sheet metal, so they really are uniquely handmade items. The metal is in the form of a clay, not traditional clay but metal particles with a binder which I shape and form and then kiln fire. The high temperature burns off the binder and fuses the metal particles leaving pure solid bronze. This is then hand polished to a beautiful golden sheen.
I also have a range of handmade glass pendant necklaces which are made by fusing glass at high temperatures, and handcrafted paper stationary crafted using traditional paper making techniques.
