Three copper graduated circles have been domed, I have textured the middle dome using a flower punch. I wanted the earrings to look like organic and as if it came from another era. Silver jump rings have been used to connect the domes. The completed earrings have been barrel polished to give a high sheen. Copper is a fantastic metal and this design of earring will appeal to those that like to have some movement with their jewellery. The stone has long black rutiles that look like needles in the quartz. I initially started with lots of pieces of silver of various sizes that were melted until they formed balls. These balls were soldered together so that some have fused and others have remained relatively intact - I did start counting how many balls were on the ring but gave up as in some parts there are three layers! The cluster sits on a reticulated silver band. The ring has been barrel polished so that the top layer of balls are very shiny but if you look really closely the bottom layer has areas that are more opaque.
