The original piece is a needle felted landscape on a background of hand felted merino and hand dyed fibres from Orkney. The background hills reflect the rustic colours of the Scottish highlands in winter with their peaks capped in a flurry of snow. The loch is a steely winter blue with the wind rippling it's surface. The cottage, all cosy with it's peat fire burning, is needle felted by hand with a little bit of stitch for added detail. The hardy little sheep nibble at what they can find among the heather.
