150 x 80mm, 60mm deep wooden trinket box, for guarding your treasures against moths, or rust, or whatever other fates may befall them.

This piece is inspired by one of my favourite pieces of biblical scripture -Matthew chapter 6, verses 19-21. I find the text so evocative partially because of my lepidoptera preoccupation, but also because of it's promise of a better life to come -something I feel should speak to the religious and non-religious alike.

The trinket box is backed in tracing paper printed with garlands of thorns, and collaged with my trademark freakish bone and butterfly chimeras.

I've juxtaposed the slightly sinister imagery with an array of the sweetest buttons, beads, gems and charms -main colours pinks, purples, silver and gold, for a curious, unexpected effect.

The interior of the box is kept quite simple to leave room for one to stash their secrets. The snippet of text from the good book is included.

Box lid lifts on tiny brass effect hinges, and fixes closed with a magnetic clasp.
