The strap fits neatly over your shoulder so when the bag is full of shopping your shoulder takes the weight, making it more comfortable to carry than the short handled bags that drag on your arms and wrists.

And of course, none of us want to be using plastic bags in this day and age – this bag is totally reusable and should last for years.

I have decorated the bag with transfer printed citrus fruit, hand touched with painted highlights and hand painted lettering which I hope will inspire you, and the people in the queue behind you, to cook something delicious when you get home!

I have chosen this type style as it makes me think of 1950s dressmaking patterns – stylish, creative, with a vintage edge.

On the reverse is a simple Quirky Dreaming motif transfer printed onto calico and handstitched into position.

As this bag is hand decorated it is a unique item and although I will be making more of the same and similar designs, no two will be exactly the same.
