I'm thinking ahead to summer, or perhaps back to last year's holiday in Cornwall. A blue sea with just a few white topped waves, a sandy beach, sea pink (or thrift) growing on the cliff tops.

This brooch has been hand-appliqueed and embroidered. The sea pink, in relief at the bottom left, is a 'pom-pom' of ribbons. The heart shape is reinforced with recycled plastic from a bottle. Felt is used to neaten the back. A brooch pin is securely stitched in place.
