Painted freehand machine embroidery (Mounted)

This beautiful little bird is painted using acrylic paint, within an outline which is stitched onto canvas freehand using my sewing machine. This creates a stunning effect. This item is made to order.

'The UK's favourite bird - with its bright red breast it is familar throughout the year and especially at Christmas! Males and females look identical, and young birds have no red breast and are spotted with golden brown. Robins sing nearly all year round and despite their cute appearance, they are aggressively territorial and are quick to drive away intruders. They will sing at night next to street lights.'

I have always loved garden birds. As a child we used to watch eagerly as the young blue tits flew from the nest box by the sitting room window. Growing up in rural Hampshire I have been blessed by being surrounded by wildlife. Now my own children have a good knowledge of the natural world around them, and know how to appreciate and look after it.

This is the original piece, mounted. The mount measures 203mm x 203mm and the mount aperture is 120mm x 1200mm. Each comes cellophane wrapped.

Please note that the frame is not included.
