This lovely 1940’s / 50’s solid wood chest of drawers has been cleaned, sanded and primed. It has also been treated thoroughly for woodworm (although the holes were most likely historic).

The piece has been painted with ‘Chalk White’ and then a stencil has been used along with ‘Swedish Blue’ to create a pretty floral hand-painted effect on the drawers.

This piece did not come with a full set of handles so I have used 8 porcelain style handles with a meadow bird motif.

This is a four-drawer unit and the inside of the drawers has been painted with ‘Wolf’, a grey/green matt colour which compliments the outside. The whole piece has then been very gently distressed around the drawers (as these are the areas which will distress naturally over time) and waxed several times.

This would look beautiful in any living space. It is also extremely practical with the drawers giving a good deal of storage and as it is solid wood, will last. It has a lovely country cottage / boho look. So, if you are looking for a unique, stand-out piece for your home then this could be it.

This is a vintage item and so it may have a few bumps and marks commensurate with age but this does not detract from the items overall look and use. I have tried to show any flaws in the photos.

Shipping: I use a reliable and professional courier company www.moretuns.com for delivering furniture around the country. It is £35 flat delivery within the M25. (If you live within the congestion charge zone, you will also be liable for the congestion charge fee). If you live further afield please contact me before purchasing and I will be happy to get you a quote. It is roughly 80p per mile. I make no money from this service and am simply acting as the middle woman to save my customers the time and trouble of organising a courier. Alternatively, you are welcome to pick up the item yourself from my address in Eltham SE9, London or organise your own courier. www.shiply.com is a useful site for doing this. I would recommend you use a professional, experienced furniture courier where possible.
