Thora is an original handmade cloth doll, she has a hand dyed calico body and has a hand painted and hand embroidered face. She carries a little bird and has tiny leather shoes, her hair is hand stitched and styled candy pink wool tops.

She stands 14 inches tall by 7 inches wide and is dressed in old Matha Negley cabbage leaf print and recycled stripy legs with a coordinating underskirt and knickers.. She sits nice and quiet or has a ring on her back so that she can hang on the wall. I think she has a pretty gentle face.

Please enjoy browsing and should you buy a doll she will be packaged in an organza bag. I have been given literally hundreds and will use them until they run out rather than let them go to landfill. Also I have been asked why I don't often repeat combinations of fabric with the dolls. It is because I tend to buy remnant stock where I can, tiny pieces of fabric that are too small for most people to use. So often I have only enough to make one doll. As always I select one of my patterns and then wander off to find coordinating fabrics that catch my eye. I have a considerable stash now and lots of recyled fabric pieces but I try to find one dominating fabric to which I will add coordinating fabrics until I have the right balance. A must is stripy legs, all my girls have stripy legs. My husband's work shirts provide a steady supply and always have my eye on the next one to go!
