Dusky Blue and Wood Mid-Century Modern 1950s Dressing Table with Mirror - Harris Lebus with original handles. Hand-painted with Annie Sloan Old Violet and patterned with Old White - wax finish. Original wood finished with cherry tan polish. Table tops finished with varnish for a sheen finish and good protection. Two large drawers and two small drawers. Some slight scuffs to the wood finish as expected with a used vintage item.

A dainty piece of furniture that is perfect for bedroom storage as well as being a signature vintage piece for a room. A tall mirror that is great for getting made up! Pinks will complement this for a girly bedroom but it is a neutral blue and white that could work well in a more subtle setting.

I found this amazing original Harris Lebus dressing table at an auction house recently and love to give something old a new lease of life. It is an original 1950s mid-century piece - Harris Lebus were a manufacturer based in Tottenham at the time. The Lebus factories were used to manufacturer munitions and bombers during the world wars and were one of the few manufacturers allowed to continue limited production of domestic furniture.

I love the idea that a gorgeous lady of that era used to sit at this very table and do her make-up to get ready for a glamorous party! I like to use modern colours for my pieces but this is the first I decided to keep the original wood showing, which I think is a nice reference back to it's former life.
