I love ambiguity in pattern. Half the time the Petrel design looks like a purely geometric pattern of tessellating line motifs. The other half it looks like a scattered flock of Petrels flying over water. I love patterns that deconstruct themselves across the field. In this case I have used the tessellating pattern sparingly - much more interesting to the eye than uniformity!
