These kits were inspired by a recent trip to China. While I was there, I wanted to explore the art of Origami and find out the meanings behind the shapes. This shape is said to have started as a love letter, then folded into the heart and given to a valentine.
While I was practising this art form with paper, I wondered about the possibility of transferring this techniqe to fabrics. It wasn't until I got home a couple of months later that I was able to try it for the first time - I was so happy to find it worked! I have used this technique with smaller hearts which I have turned into lockets and also Origami Cranes which make great, practical ornaments!
