Modern, minimalist cross. Sterling silver, on a 16" sterling silver chain.

Cut and formed using traditional silversmithing skills but giving a modern twist.

The horizontal bar appears to float within the twist of the vertical line. The bale, through which the sinuous snake chain flows is an integral part of the design.

Viewed side on the cross incorporates the PX symbol. This refers to the Greek spelling of Christ - Chi-Rho.

This cross is made from round sterling wire. I also have another formed from square sterling wire.

Some of the pictures show the cross whilst I was working on it - I can leave it with a matt finish or finish it with a high polished shine.

Asked to make a baptism gift for the niece of a friend I began with some simple sketches. My friend wanted something that brought tradition, religion and modern design together. Her niece is young, vital and fashion conscious. She was delighted with her cross. I hope you like it too.
