A large full Ammonite fossil, in weathered condition, so suitable for a display both inside and outside, would make a great garden ornament for example!

This fossil was found in a river bed, just poking out to display its ridges, and has been completely turned to stone, so ideal for outside display!

Although a full ammonite fossil specimen and 3D, it has a definite front and back, please review the photo's, the back of the fossil still has a small proportion of the bed rock attached and I was concerned that trying to remove it any further might damage the underlying ammonite fossil.

The specimen as it stands is quite large and measures approx 9.5cms by 12cms by 3.5cms at it was too heavy for my digital scales.

I have photographed it from various angles so that you can see all around it and hopefully appreciate its beauty as much as we do.

This specimen has been carefully whittled to reveal the full ammonite within, but after that, other than neatening the edges of the specimen & smoothing off any sharp edges the fossil, has been left as near to the way it was found as possible, it really needs no additional adornment. Sounds simple, but hours of work have go into finding & preparing this fossil!

This specimen is a great example of this type of fossil ammonite & really captured my children & I with its beauty! It needed no adornment, being perfect as it was and really brings 180 million years ago right to the present day!
