Hot in the City Handmade Fabric Orange Reds.

Description:
The Hot in the City fabric is created from my evening walks over the motorway. The design began life as the view from half closed eyes and the images of time lapse photo’s of speeding traffic lights! It has several shades of reds, oranges and yellow to reflect the colours of the vehicle lights
The fabrics I have used have various textures such as the subtle shimmer of satins; soft feel woven wools and velvet for depth of colour and texture.
I have embellished the fabric with zig zag machine stitch in shades of orange silky rayon threads, reflecting the movement of the vehicles along the road. There are couched threads of red, glittery metallic thread.
The Hot in the City fabric is sewn onto a Muslin backing with Cotton wadding for a padded effect. The fabric does not have a grain or bias as it’s stabilised by the muslin and wadding.
I can see this fabric making bags or technology equipment covers and Art pad holders. I imagined it would also make a panel for a cushion cover fabric.

After care:
Hand wash with delicate washing liquid. Use a cloth if pressing or ironing, with fabric face down on the ironing surface.
Ensure all cut edges will be sewn in construction.
