A vibrant, vivid and unique necklace comprising a large hand-beaded bead, two turquoise coloured ceramic beads, a lovely little fish button and sections of colourful recycled fabric yarn, punctuated by little beadwork caps.

The necklace is 22 inches / 56cm long when fastened. The beaded bead is approximately 3/4/inch or 2cm in diameter, the ceramic beads are about half an inch / 1.5cm wide and the fabric yarn is just under half an inch / 1cm thick.

This piece is made using painstaking attention to detail to ensure that it is as durable, secure and comfortable as possible. However, please avoid immersing it in water, as this may compromise the strength of the thread and the lifespan of the item. To clean it, wipe with a damp cloth, pat with a towel and then leave it somewhere warm and airy to dry.

All pieces are wrapped in tissue paper and come in their own organza pouch.

This necklace is a real reflection of my magpie tendencies. As with many beaders, I have a stash of much-loved, hoarded objects that are all waiting for the perfect design to bring them to life. That was very much the case here - the fish button is one of a set I've kept for years and the ceramic bead is from a beloved bracelet that I wore until the thread snapped. When I made the turquoise-green beaded bead and saw how nicely it combined with the recycled fabric yarn (another long-hoarded treasure), I knew that I'd found a home for the ceramic beads and fish button.
