I originate from this part of England, this scene of a farm on the Somerset Levels is one I know very well. I love the autumn and particularly love the contrast between the bright green field with its black gold (peat) exposed. The crows have been scared off and have taken flight from the safety of their roost. The sky is moody and adds to the painting's dramatic appeal.
