Steampunk inspired, eye glass necklace

Description

The other week I opened a magazine and a pop star with a belting voice(she is beeeaaauutifulhul no madder whad you saaaay)was wearing a necklace featuring a pince nez.
I'd had some of these original eye glasses in my possesion, due to my Steampunk fascination, for months and wasnt sure what was the best thing to do with them, use them as jewellery, use them in mixed media art etc.
So here, with the encouragement of fashion, is my necklace.
The chain is approx 1m long and made up of shiny gold plated links, I have embellished the links with small gold coloured flower connectors, and the eye glasses hang from the end of the chain.

Sorry the pictures are samey but its tough to photograph long necklaces on a short stand.

These are not modern eye/mass produced glasses, Im not sure how old they are or what metal they are made of but pince nez as we know them now have been around since the mid 1800's.There are tiny chips in the glass but overall the glass and metal are very sturdy. The glass has a slight magnification to it so may be a good accesory for those who needs a little help with small print.

This item will be posted in a padded envelope in its own gift box.
