Item details

This pot stand is made from an ancient 380 year old ash tree that fell in the grounds of a local castle. The timber has been left to season for over 10 years and is now transformed from ancient log to finished article over a two day period using traditional woodturning techniques. It is interesting to acknowledge the fact that the wood from which this bowl is made was alive at the same time and actually witnessed the sacking of the castle where it grew by Cromwell in 1646.
Please note that my turned wooden items rely for their effect by focusing on the grain, splits, defects and faults that occur naturally in reclaimed and fallen timber.
