This is an original reduction linocut print, one of an edition of just 25 prints. This print is signed, titled and editioned along the bottom in pencil. Just 25 of these prints were made, you may not receive the exact print used in the photos. This linocut print is the second in a series of views of Dorset that I'm working. This print is currently on display as part of Poole Printmaker's exhibition at the Lighthouse in Poole.

The tradition of linocut is a relief printing method in which pieces of lino are cut away using special carving tools to create a design. The lino block is then inked up using a roller, and printed onto paper either by hand or using a traditional printing press. It's an entirely manual process, so some slight differences in the prints are to be expected. Each of these prints is the result of a four stage reduction process, the block being carefully carved and printed, each new colour after the previous layer has had several days to dry.

Original linocut printed onto somerset cartridge (130gsm) with oil based inks.

This print is a perfect fit for a 40 x 50cm frame when mounted.

Sold unframed to reduce postage costs.
