OK so it's not really a giant blanket at 4' x 5'. But it does have giant cables, without a doubt.

This super chunky blanket is ideal for dressing your bed and keeping your toes warm. Or you could throw it across your sofa for TV snuggle time.

The blanket has been designed and hand-knitted by me at home in Sheffield, UK. Each stitch is a double strand of super-chunky yarn, in a very soft acrylic so it's long-lasting and easy to care for. The oversized cables create little pockets of heat, so it’s lovely and warm and it’s sure to add impact to any room.

Knitting on such a large scale requires oversized circular needles which are very hard to find in the UK as they are not commercially available. Fortunately my Uncle is a master carpenter so he very kindly turned me a pair of 25mm needles and made them into circulars for me. It felt very special to make up my own design using the needles he had made.

Blanket measures 120 x 160 cm (47 x 60 inches), or 4ft by 5ft.

I saw a picture of blanket with an oversized cable design and I was inspired. Extreme knitting is a very exciting area and I love handling the chunky tools and masses of yarn which result in big soft high-impact items. It is knitting with a modern twist. And the blanket is soooo warm....
