I crocheted this brooch in a gorgeous, dark green silk thread, in a traditional Irish Rose design. The thread is pure silk, with a natural lustre to it. The centre of the rose is decorated with a Swarovski crystal bead. The crystal has an " aurora borealis" coating and is really pretty. The rose is firmly sewn onto the silver-plated brooch fitting. I never use glue in my work and always use hook and needle skills to attach components, as this gives a more secure and aesthetically pleasing finish.

I chose a fairly thin thread, to give the rose a delicate, intricate look, and crocheted it firmly to make sure that it holds its shape well.

The rose measures approximately 7cm (3 inches) across.

This item will be wrapped in recycled, acid and bleed free tissue paper and a reusable gift box ( also made from recycled card).
