Poison Ivy stained glass sculpture
Description
As the title suggests this piece was loosely inspired by poison ivy.
The 'stem' has been made using the copper foil technique, the class used to hold the green of the 'stem' is recycled from an old window, inside the coloured green and yellow glass pieces are offcuts from other projects and recycled marbles.
The red streaky 'leaves' are made with new glass and have been soldered onto garden wire which has then been soldered onto the 'stem', I have twisted and curled the wire as a creeping ivy would do.
At the top of the base I have allowed the solder to drip down the sides of the 'stem' and I've also given some parts of the solder a black and copper patina finish.
This sculpture is aprox 15" high and aprox 8" at it's widest point. It is a total one off and will never be made again.
As with all my work the design is my own
