These earrings are made with two round faceted prehnite beads, wrapped with sterling silver, and suspended on sterling silver earring wires (also made by me). The silver has been oxidised and hand-polished to bring out some silver highlights - which makes for a great contrast against the subtle sage colour of the prehnite.

The prehnite gems are perfectly imperfect - they have plenty of inclusions and a few surface imperfections; but this is natural for prehnite and gives these earrings a lot of character. The inclusions almost resemble little blades of grass, which I find fascinating - especially when I think of how these are just inclusions that formed naturally in the rock.

I love the combination of raw natural beauty with the oxidised silver - these earrings have a simple, modern edge to them.
