Coat Hooks - Upcycled Coat Hooks on Reclaimed Wooden Floorboards
Description
This coat rail is made from contrasting pieces of reclaimed wooden floorboard. The wood has been cleaned and lightly sanded to retain the character. The floorboards have been glued, nailed and screwed together and then sealed with a quality wax to bring out the grain and protect the wood.
I have used different hooks, including a large ornate vintage acorn double hook with, and smaller single metal hooks. The rail has been finished off with a hand stamped recycled copper Reclaimed Time plaque (on the top of the rail).
This would look great in your home or make a beautiful gift.
The wood has been pre-drilled ready to fix to your wall (screws are supplied however you will need to source your own wall fixings as they will be dependent on the type of walls in your property).

Inspiration
These old wooden floorboards were sourced from one of the local reclamation yards. The pieces the hooks are mounted on were removed from the attic space in the old Norfolk & Norwich Hospital (known locally as the N&N), which was founded in 1771 and closed in 2003 and refurbished into flats.
The hooks have been sourced from flea markets and antique shops, I use a mismatch of styles and shapes to add interest and make each one unique.
