Skull & dots hexagon applique patchwork cushion (teal & grey front)
Description
Genuinely one-of-a-kind, this soft, gorgeous handmade cotton pillow/ cushion is hand appliqued with hexagons that were also sewn by hand using the English Paper Piecing patchwork technique.
Made with fabric of which I only had small pieces it is therefore unique. Much time and love went into making it. I hope it finds a good home.
As a clumsy, wine-spilling, chocolate-crumbing kind of girl envelope backs are the way for me. And as a sofa-snoozing weekend hangover-ing type I have no time for uncomfortable cushions either.
I believe that pillows have to be comfy and washable, as well as beautiful hence this cushion's cream coloured back is an envelope back to allow for easy cleaning.
To wash please wash cool, and gentle and ideally with a colour-catching sheets the first time or two. Better safe than sorry I always say.
This cushion holds a 16x16 pillow/cushion, and comes with hypo-allergenic polyester-cotton cushion inner.
If you have any questions don't hesitate to message me.
Inspiration
A twist on the darkness of the gothic skull fabric in the centre of the patchwork the surrounding fabrics are light and dotty and sweet. It's also handmade using really traditional techniques of EPP and using my handle turn 1920's Singer machine. I love the contrast. It can take folk a while to properly register what's in the middle. That tickles me.
Darkness and light.
