Antique Woodwork Plane – Repurposed Clock
Approx 9.5 x 5.75 inches – complete width. (24 x 14.5 cms)
Owner’s name on bottom edge nice and clear –G Davis
Age probably late 1800s to 1920s.
Wood probably Beech
This plane does not have a metal blade and the wedge is firmly fixed.
Clock Face reproduced from an old Face still showing cracks, wear and tear.
Black metal Hands
Quartz clock movement –Silent - Battery and guarantee included.

Inspiration
It is such a shame to see these old antique tools heaped in a box dirty, unloved. They have been superceded by power tools and discarded but give them a clean and polish and they are very attractive items. This one now has another purpose, a new life as a wall clock. A previous owner, the joiner, was Mr G. Davis. I would love to know who he was and what he made with this plane.
I have carefully reproduced the face from an old damaged face leaving all the cracks and chips to show. I don't think this distracts from the clock but adds yet another story to its history.
