Faux Leather Momigami Notebook, recycled paper, Keith Smith Sewing

Description

Thick journal or note book with brightly coloured pages and starch-treated momigami laminated card cover.

This is another experiment with Japanese starching. The cover is pliable and resembles leather in appearance without looking imitation.

The stitch pattern is from Keith Smith.
There are 3 sections each of 24 leaves or 48 pages all of which are hand-torn to give a nice feel.
The dimensions are 14 x 13 x 2.5 cm, approx.

The pages are recycled paper from Frogmore Mill in Hemel Hempstead, UK. This is a heritage site and was the first mill in the world to produce machine-made papers. Their site is at thepapertrail.org.uk.

The book in the photograph has been sold so I would make another especially for you. Please allow a few extra days when ordering.

Please note that all my books are handmade by me and as such will have the look and feel of a crafted item and will not have the high mechanical finish of a machine-made object. There may well be small imperfections which add to the charm of the book.
However, I do try to make the books carefully so they are as beautiful as possible.
Some of my styles are more rustic than others.
