A hand embroidered framed elegy to Britain’s national drink, this piece was made by infusing leaf tea for between three and five minutes and applying the resulting brew at very regular intervals until the job was done.
Stitched onto unbleached muslin, the piece was stretched and framed in a recycled frame. It comes ready to hang and can be gift wrapped for your favourite little teapot.

Do you know someone with a tea cupboard? A tea menu? More teapots than hands? Or maybe they maintain, like George Orwell, ‘… that one strong cup of tea is better than twenty weak ones.’
Carefully shaded in strength from baby tea to dissolve-the-spoon in liquid satin stitches, it will remind you it’s always time to put the kettle on.
I’ll never get back the tea leaves that fuelled this particular creative endeavour, so each of my pieces is unique and never to be repeated. If you don’t get the one you love – a coffee drinker might come along and steal it!
