Copper Ball Headpins Mixed Colours
Description
Handmade colored copper ball headpins
Pure copper wire has been torched to form a ball at one end, pickled to remove firescale and oxidised in liver of sulphur to give an antique finish
They were then cleaned with wire wool and polished in a tumbler to add a lovely shine and work-harden the headpins
The balls were then handpainted with patina inks in a mix of pink, turquoise, green, lilac and cobalt blue and protected with a coat of varnish
Great to use as headpins, dangles or curly tendrils
Please note the balls are pitted and rustic in style and not perfectly smooth and spherical!
Made from 20g/0.8mm wire
Length: 2.5 inches/62mm
