This is an opportunity to commission a unique hand crafted playmat using patchwork, applique and hand embroidery, that is based on a theme that is special to your child.

The play mat size will be approximately 30 by 30 inches and will be made from 100% high quality quilting cotton with a natural wadding.

This is a reversible option - you can have a different design on each side, or perhaps a storage option on the reverse. I can also do a single sided play mat - see other posting.

The scenes will be created in a combination of hand applique and hand embroidery using a variety of felts, threads and fabrics as appropriate to the theme. Trimmings can include ribbons and ric-rac, and I can use buttons if you wish.

The photos show a recently commissioned example: a Teddy Bear's Picnic theme with a magical forest on one side and a Thatched Cottage with pockets for dolls or teddies to go to bed on the other. These photos are for illustration only, and this exact play mat is not for sale. I will work with you by Folksy message to create a new design based on your chosen theme.
