Description

This unusual necklace was inspired by an artist’s colour wheel, the circular device that is divided into six sections, three for primary colours and three for contrasting/complementary colours. I thought that the circular shape of the wheel and the way that the colours ran into each other would lend itself to a necklace. In order to achieve this, I decided to construct a beaded chain link in each of the colours and construct them through one another in the same way as the links in a chain sit together. As well as the six colours represented in the colour wheel (red, orange, yellow, green, blue and purple) I have also incorporated links that blend the colours on either side of it in order to make the colour change across the necklace more gradual. The last link has been formed as a toggle to allow it to fasten around the neck and hook into the next loop in the sequence.

The length of the chain, when fastened, is approximately 19 inches and each link is approximately 2 inches in length and 2 inches across.

This bold piece of jewellery is bound to create a focal point for any outfit.
