The Forest Dwellers - Butterfly Framed Art
Description
The words and illustrations in this piece are extracts taken from a gigantic early 1950's book titled:
'The World We Live In'
by
"The editorial staff at 'Life' and Lincoln Barnett"
"The World We Live In spanned a diverse range of topics concerning planet Earth and universe, and employed the talents of countless artists and photographers."
This piece uses extracts from a section of the book titled "The Forest Dwellers" The illustrations, fonts and text are intriguing and there's something more than a little gangster about the centrally placed squirrel.
As the text is taken from a 1950's book the butterflies have a beautiful aged quality to the paper. The butterfly content is painstakingly chosen, hand cut, hand sewn and attached.
The piece will come to you in a black wood shadow box measuring 33cm x 24cm (outer dimensions of the frame) which can be either freestanding or hung.
The butterfly art really works for me, from a distance it's one pretty thing, then close up, it's a deeper level of personal detail. I can't get enough of symmetry and detail in meaning.
If this isn't exactly what you are looking for, I completely welcome custom projects, Imagine a piece like this but with any content special to you, I will source any book, maps, lyrics, quotes or anything you require.
Thanks so much for looking at 'The Forest Dwellers'
