embroidered hummingbird purse / case.

this generously sized zip purse measures approximately 17.5cm wide x 12 cm (7” x 4.5”). based on an original drawing by Little Black Heart, it is entirely handmade by me on a domestic sewing machine.

the bird is in red floral printed fabric with a bright red heart on its chest, and pale blue cotton wing and tail feather details.
the fabrics are layered and appliqued onto pre-washed calico, before i draw on detail with free machine (free motion) embroidery. i then make up the finished item.

everything is cut, stitched and handmade, with care, by me, ensuring it is unique, well made and securely constructed.

the case itself is made from heavy weight calico which has been pre-washed several times so it’s soft and should not shrink. the front is stiffened with vilene, it’s lined with blue cotton and has a zip fastening. the red tag has been double stitched so it's secure.

it would be perfect as a little make-up purse, as a case for a phone or compact camera or for storing other bits & bobs. and would make a beautiful and unique gift …for yourself or someone else.
