Cockerel Collagraph
Description
This cockerel original collagraph was created using a matboard and glue substrate. A sketched design was scratched into the board to create the fine lines. Varying grades of carborundum, (a fine grit) was used to give a range of tones.
Inked in the intaglio and relief methods.
As is the nature of using a card matrix the amount of prints made are limited. This coupled with the varying methods of applying ink each print has unique qualities, each being hand pulled by myself. Edition: Artist Proof, printed on thick, what we call in the trade 'bread and butter' paper.
Dimensions: image 57cm x 49cm Paper 64cm x 56cm
Comes unmounted and unframed for ease of postage, wrapped in tissue and cellophane and placed in a study tube.

Inspiration
Facinated by most creatures big and small, I am particularly drawn to flamboyant feathered birds at the moment. Beautiful to draw and carve they lend themselves well to pattern and texture and the printmaking process.
