Vintage garter with a touch of sparkle
Description
Vintage sheer white garter, embroidered with flowers and tiny blue gems for a touch of sparkle. Trimmed with duck egg blue lace and satin and adorned with white stain and baby blue ribbons. This is a really unique garter for that special bride-to-be, who’s looking for something very different to the traditional lace garter.
This garter is 16cm (6 inches) in diameter and will stretch to 51cm (20 inches). Each garter comes gift-wrapped in a black matt lidded box, hand-ties with an ivory or white satin ribbon.
Traditionally worn on the bride’s left leg, the garter is removed by the groom with his teeth. It was historically good luck for the couple’s wedding guests to touch or take the garter from the bride but also, many centuries ago, to confirm consummation of the marriage. Nowadays the garter is a memento to treasure forever or sometimes be to ‘borrowed’ by a friend or daughter in years to come. And don’t forget a flash of a garter against bare skin will make any man weak at the knees.
All Garland & Garter products are lovingly handmade in Cambridge, England, using only the finest and most elegant vintage lace and adorned with soft ribbons and luscious satin. These hand-finished garters are truly luxurious, often hand-finished with an antique heart or locket making these beautiful garters the ideal gift to treasure forever.
