Ruby Silk Evening Bag or Purse
Description
This is a lovely silk evening bag or purse, just big enough to hold a few little essentials. The outer fabric is a rich ruby coloured silk dupion, which has been stitched and carefully cut back to reveal glimpses of the colourful hand-painted silk underneath. It has then been trimmed with heart-shaped beads. The bag fastens with a large gold button and cord loop and the same cord has been used for the shoulder strap, which can be tucked away inside so the bag can be used either as a shoulder bag or clutch bag. The bag has been stiffened to give it structure and lined with a toning silk dupion.
It measures approx 8 x 5.5 inches (20 x 14 cm) and the strap is approx 40 inches (102 cm) long. It will be carefully wrapped and boxed for shipping.

I love the luxurious effect of layering and quilting fine fabrics. The glimpses of painted silk hidden beneath the surface add colour and interest, and make the bag truly unique.
