Necklace, Square Beads on Chain, Brown and Blue, Polymer Clay
Description
Handmade polymer clay necklace, square beads in blue and brown with copper chain.
The necklace measures approx 46cms (18 inches) and fastens with a copper lobster clasp.
I have made the 3 square beads and 2 tube beads from polymer clay with a palette of browns and teal blues.
The square beads are accompanied by semi precious carnelians, and the tube beads by small semi precious mookaite beads.
The square beads measure approx 17mm across, but as they are hand cut they may not all be identical. The tube beads are approx 15mm long.
They are all linked with antique bronze wire and the rest of the necklace is antique copper chain.
To make the square beads I have created a polymer clay cane known as a 'Klimt' or 'retro' cane. The result is a cane made up of small squares of randomly coloured clay. Every slice from this cane will be slightly different resulting in unique beads.
The tube beads are made using the same palette of colours but with a zig zag pattern.
