Stunning vintage black lace garter, adorned with beautiful embroidered flowers. Hand-finished with a black lace and satin ribbon bow and a pearl droplet charm.

This garter is 20cm (8 inches) in diameter and will stretch to 56cm (22 inches). Each garter comes gift-wrapped in a black matt lidded box, hand-tied with an ivory or white satin ribbon.

Traditionally worn on the bride’s left leg, the garter is removed by the groom with his teeth, once the couple are wed. It was historically good luck for the couple’s wedding guests to touch or take the garter from the bride but also it was used, many centuries ago, to confirm consummation of the marriage. Nowadays the garter is a memento to treasure forever or sometimes be to ‘borrowed’ by a friend or daughter in years to come.
