In this beautiful one-of-a-kind piece, each of the eight Butterflies are built with words and images from Alice in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll.

The text and images are taken from a 1982 Illustrated Alice in Wonderland, the illustrations are absolutely beautiful and there's a lovely aged quality to the paper. Illustrations include.....Alice with the Baby Pig, The Cheshire Cat, The Mad Hatter and Five and Seven painting roses.

The butterflies rest on a blue pastel paper. The extracts from this classic story are painstakingly chosen, the butterflies hand cut, hand sewn and attached. There's plenty of depth to this piece and it has a really warm feel to it.

The piece will come to you in a black wood shadow box measuring 33cm x 24cm (outer dimensions of the frame) which can be either freestanding or hung.

The butterfly art really works for me, from a distance it's one pretty thing, then close up, it's a deeper level of detail. I can't get enough of symmetry and detail.
