Inspiration
I love to make images of birds and they feature often in my work.
I was interested to see how acrylic paint worked on wood veneer and I enjoyed making this and several other paintings in this way, using metal leaf in various colours to create the birds and highlight other areas.
with such rich reds, browns and golds in the painting I thought they needed substantial gold frames.
A black mount adds to the drama and the magic.
The painting is 5 inches by 3 inches and the frame approximately 9 inches by 7 inches.
