Faceted ethiopian opal set in satin finished recycled sterling silver. It has been hand made from stock silver, shaped and forged specifically for this stone and is a one off.
Its unusual to get a faceted opal and this is big and beautiful with flashes of green.

This ethiopian opal has been cut by Bob, an etsy gem cutter. Bob is a genius.
Bob said "opals are hydrophane and will absorb water if it gets wet. When this happens it will turn totally clear but retain its play of color. As it dries, it will turn white and opaque and may lose a lot of it's color play. Then it will return to its original appearance. Because the stone is big this can take a few hours"
It's a bit technical, but put simply, don't worry if it changes colour when you get it wet because this is what opals do. It will go back to normal in time.

The ring will come in a black gift box with a black bow.
