LOVE - Word Stone - to show someone that you care, (wedding favour).
Description
A small handmade ceramic stone with the word Love carved into it.
A little something for a pocket or pencil case, bedside table or desk, - to show that you care.
They can look amazing as part of a wedding's table decorations or as wedding favours.
It is made from a white earthenware clay, textured and then inscribed before being bisque fired. I then paint it with a black matt glaze in order to highlight the inscription, and used a shiny glaze on the top right corner.
Approximatel 5cm long, 2.5cm high.
(I can make these in quantity and personalised. A discount can be offered and the postage will be calculated accordingly.
Working with clay requires a long lead time due to the drying process so please bear this in mind. I would be more than happy to answer any questions. Please get in touch via the shop.)
Inspiration
I began making Word Stones when my youngest daughter started secondary (high) school. I wanted to give her a little extra strength and encouragement, so I made her a 'hug' to keep in her pocket. I got the idea from J.M. Barrie's novel Peter Pan, when Wendy gave Peter a 'kiss' - a thimble.
