Bespoke Handmade Doll 'DALE'
Description
Dale is an original handmade doll and is part of a collection of dolls called The Misfits.
The doll starts out as a foil and wire armature and is then hand sculpted using polymer clay, I do not use molds. The doll is then painted with acrylics and the face is water colours and pencil. The hair is mohair and the clothes are denim and a wool jumper, he has hand painted shoes with wire laces. Dale stands on a oak wood plinth which makes him 35cm tall.
My dolls are very delicate and are therefore not suitable for children as toys.
Inspiration
Dale is part of a collection of dolls called The Misfits, the kids that just don't fit in.
'Dale likes to hang over the motorway bridge and count the Eddie Stobbart lorries. Sometimes they recognise and give him a blast on the horn.'
