Porcelain Dish - Delicate Coral Reef
Description
I make these porcelain pieces at my home studio, meticulously texturing each one by hand (no stamps or texture sheets), sanding and glazing them.
This low dish has a hand sculpted coral texture (not stamps). The bowl is made of high fired, unglazed, porcelain which is slightly translucent when fired at this temperature. Vermillion red glass beads have been fused into the craters in a separate firing. The underside of the dish has an interesting bumpy texture. Unfortunately I forgot to sign this piece before firing.
The dish is 4 1/2 inches/11.5cm across and 1 inch/2.5cm high.
This is intended as an object of beauty only....it is not intended for food use.
Inspiration
I have an obsession with textures. These vessels are a way of experimenting with different texture and colour combinations....I'm happy to take custom orders :)
